Inside Fun

Sometime you may get the feeling of just wanting to stay inside. Often we find ourselves not having the money to go out to enjoy our surroundings. So my advice is stay inside for a change. Play some games with family or friends. You could play board games such as; Risk, Life, Clue, Sorry, Trouble or card games like Rummy, Poker, or Uno, or perhaps play Solitaire.

This past week I went over a friend's house and we played a game. The game is Uno Flash, truthfully I had tons of fun and was quite different. The game was intense with the beat of the sounds playing and hitting your button after playing your card. This isn't no ordinary game of Uno. This electronic version selects who's next in line to play their card. With this game you must stay alert and pay attention to the blinking light because it might be your turn to play.

Have you played any board games or cards lately solo, family, or with friends?

Here is a commercial for Uno Flash:

  1. I haven't played any board games or card games recently, but did hook up the Sega Genesis a couple weeks ago and have been alternating with that and the Nintendo WII.

    1. Sega Genesis is the best ever! I was addicted to playing Sonic. Unfortunately, my Sega kind of died, the cord doesn't work anymore. Every time I go into GameStop I always look for Sonic games for PlayStation.

    2. I was going to say, if you still had your Sega Genesis, you may want to go to the Rossis Pop Up Flea Market in North Versailles. There's a vendor there that sells old game systems, old games and newer games too. I bought Pittfall for Shane's Atari last time I was up there and it works just fine.

  2. We have family game night quite often. Some of our favorite board games are Cranium, Guesstures, Trivial Pursuit, Boggle, Rummikub and Scattergories. Our favorite card games are Quiddler, 30 and if there are only four people, 500 Bid.

  3. I introduced Nancy to Quiddler a few weeks ago. I feel a CommCC game night coming on.

  4. Quiddler was fun, I will admit. However, Scrabble, Trivia Pursuit and The Game of Life are my absolute favorites. When I was a kid, Aggravation was the game of choice with my aunt and brother; we had so much fun. Oh, a game night would be so much fun, we need to arrange one!

  5. Word to the Wise, Dr C, and Nancy,
I have never heard of the game Quiddler. I read that it is a cross between Scrabble and Rummy, which I love both. When I was growing up, I loved playing card games like Spit, Flinch, and Gin. For board games I love Monopoly, Chutes and Ladders, but Sorry was my all-time favorite.
